Cairns and Magnetic Island!!

Hey Guys... this is going to be short and sweet due to the fact its expensive for net in OZ and ive also spent all day catching up on my diary so am written out! I ended up staying 6 nights in Cairns and I loved it. Took my new found diving skills onto the barrier reef which was a life changing experience! honestly breathtaking! saw fish that were bigger than me and a flowery cod which is the most clever fish ever... its camaflague was so impressive! also did a trip to the cape tribualtion rain forest (which was not so good as it rained all day and our annoying tour guide made us go leaf hunting!!) but did go crocdile hunting and saw 2! they are sooo scary! Critchy I did indeed go to the woolshed. I hearted the woolshed! it was great! also got the CSS (which are employed security guards by the council) to shout " flaming gallah theres trouble in the precinct!" into their walkie talkie! pure gold! the weather in cairns was generally good but started fading so that was my cue to leave and i jumped on my first oz bus to magnetic island! was really quite impressed with how efficent they were. And also I was the only 1 without accomodation (im more of the laid back kind of traveller) and they got me in with every1 else at base so that was cool! words cannot describe magentic island ( so called as when captain colombus discovered it his compass went mental and broke so he thought it had a magentic field- it doesnt his compass had just broke!!haha) which is about 30 minute boat from townsville. its pure paradise and renowned for the wild koalas that are found in the trees. are hostel consisted of cabins which were small but everymorening in 10 seconds you were on the beach and there were balm trees, white sands, blue seas and the mainland in the distance! heaven! loved it and spent 3 days just chilling out and sunbathing (sorry guys its boiling out here!!) 85% of backpackers are going north so there were only 8 on our bus and we all got on so well. We organised a little goon party which escalated slightly and the bar manager shut it down! woops. was so good though and met some awesome people. Also had the most surreal moemtn of my life as the 2 scottish we are with got so drunk they went to an ozzies house with him brought back the fish hed caught that day and then slapped me round the face with it! yep i got slapped by a cold trout! not good! but sooo funny! also met a slightly scary stalker style boy who told me "he was appaled Id not acted on the connetcion between us (there wasnt one) then he deleted all his pics with me in! crazy! anyhows this is a very short version of the past week..just letting you know im safe and stuff. im about 2 spend 3 nights on a boat at whitsundays then im off to a cattle ranch to ride a horse and milk a cow! jokes! love xxx
