Tangalooma - a small resort on Moreton Island - best known for its dolphins

daily feeding of wild dolphins by guests is their trademark and reputation

We arrived this morning via ferry at Moreton Island and got a tour of the resort. Got lunch and went on a wildlife cruise on a small boat - saw some sea turtles under the water and some fish and finally - a duogong. did not come too close but did see one. Then had a snack, walked on the beach a bit, played in the water and had a quick supper. very disappointing - buffet was disappointing - salad and dessert buffet was $26, and very little Jenica could eat. meat was an extra $12 - $30 .
oh well - had fish and fries - and am getting tired of fries. Everything here is so expensive.
Down to the dock to eagerly await the dolphin feeding. It is very closely regulated as these are wild dolphins that come to teh dock to be fed. Major research station.

and waited.
and waited
and finally they cancelled. has happened 7 times in about 15 years. We just got unlucky.

This is a beautiful spot. swimming pools and gorgeous beach. sadly for Jenica - there are small fish, and starfish, and jelly fish and rays.

Beautiful sand.
Hope to go kayaking tomorrow - waves here are much calmer - or least were today.
My bags are packed for home. tomorrow is my last day in Brisbane - then home.

At airport 3 hours before flight, 3 hour flight from Brisbane to Auckland, 2 hour wait, 15 hour flight to L.A. , 2 hour wiat, 5 hour flight to Toronto, get luggage, get through customs, 2 hours to get home.

That will be a VERY long day. I don;t sleep well on planes.

Had an awesome day to finish up Australia. Will be a long flight home but absolutely NO GRAVOL! We swam.we kayaked we played in the sun.we shopped. and now home for kangaroo steaks for supper. Good day. have fun in Europe. Will talk when we both get back.
