The Glass House MountainsThe Glass House MountainsThe Glass House Mountains

These mountains are a series of volcanic crags. They were named by Captain James Cook who noted the the reflections of the glass-smooth rocks in the sunlight
Bus at 8am, straight to so called 'Rainbow Beach' named beacuse it has over 70 different colours, but all i saw was one sand colour and a strange looking grey - not pretty at all! Our bus driver, Claire, took us to the beach to tell us all about aboriginal culture. But it started to rain. So we moved. She told us about the culture and iv forgotten it already but we tried to play a didjaridoo (no idea how to spell that!) Neither me or Skinny could coz we kept laughing! We were also hungry, so we had lunch, and then had a go with a child proof boomerang! That didnt really work either. So we made our way to the Sunshine coast, the start being Noosa, were we stopped for a couple of hours. It was so beautiful, but everything was so expensive, as its a family place rather than a tourist town. Our last stop before making Brisbane was Wild Horse Mountain lookout. This mountain we had to climb. A steep hill for 750m, another good work out. The view at the top was beautiful. The main sight were 3 mountains, called Glasshouse Mountains, which the Aboriginals have a story about, one being the father, one the mother and the other the baby boy. I think there are a few interpretations of the story so I won't go into it now. Once we got to Brisbane we got into contact with Aus and Rebs. We went to their hostel, had dinner with them and said goodbye, as they move on on 12th March to Byron Bay. They have a lot less time here in Australia so they don't stop everywhere as long. Today will probably be the last day we see them :o(
