Another good nights sleep and early wake up, today was going to be an exciting day for us so waking early was not a problem. Andy was up at about 6.00 this morning; he had a better night sleep than last night when I woke him up to deal with our "intruder". I genuinely thought someone was trying to break in, hearing a thud on the window and then the frames started to rattle, then a scuffle outside so you could forgive me for thinking that. Anyway I slept the night with a gel icepack on my leg to help reduce the heat emitting swelling from my sandfly bites. These pesky things give one of the nastiest bites! In the early hours of this morning (2.30) Caroline woke me us suggested she would like me to go and see who was breaking in to the bedroom. Being a modern man I jumped at the chance and bounded out of bed and headed towards the window only to see a Possum sitting on the ledge outside. As I couldn’t see any evidence of crowbar or any other implements of breaking and entering I went back to bed, after watching the little furry creature bound away in to a nearby tree. I was pleased to see Caroline fall back to sleep immediately whilst I took at least an hour. G'day bloggers, We had a nice leisurely start to the day; it was hot enough for me (Andy) last night so I slept on top of the bed, with the punkawalla fan on all night. After a couple of hours of breakfast and reading our books, we needed to go off an get some bits from Bunnings (The Australian B&Q). Today’s task was to remove the 2 rear rumble seats that are in the back of the patrol, so we would end up being able to fold the row behind the drivers’ seat back, and thus give us plenty of storage. Trying to remove 14mm bolts with a Nissan toolkit is like trying to push a bag of water up hill, so this is where Bunnings came in. We parked the truck, which we are now ... read more
