hello.
We have made it to Airlie Beach! Its really nice here, the wqeather has finally cheered up a bit. We went swimming yesterday in the lagoon and both got burnt. we went for a walk all along the front. We head off to Rockhampton tomorrow, 7 hours on a greyhound.
We are more than happy to be Godparents, mum told us about it. We had to leave Cairns as we only have 5 weeks to travel 4000km to sydney. We would have done more exploring but its only a taster and there are other places we wanted to see along the way, we cant see everything in every city, there isnt time! lol. It also hasnt stopped raining since we landed thanks to Cyclone Olga and Neville (it seems to be travelling with us).
We are off to see the Great Barrier Reef today and the Whitsunday Islands today on a cruise as it seems to be dry for once. We are staying in a holiday cabin here, which is nice as we have our own cooking space so we could cook curry and lamb, lovely.
We also went to Townsville along the way which was a very quiet place. We went to the Queensland museum and the reef HQ exhibition. We stayed in the Ibis hotel which was nice. We had to make tea in there on the last night as the tail end of the cyclone hit and we couldnt leave. Luckily we had been warned on the news so had chicken and pasta. we did get woken up by a fire alarm tho the morning we left.

Glad you are exploring the reef do the scuba diving thing its fab! I am sure I saw a reef shark but no one believes me. The bus thing sounds a bit crap though. Whats in Rockhampton? The christening went well the girls were superstars. Watch that sun You lucky buggers I haven't been warm since august! I just have to keep rubbing the cream on my chilblains! Good to see you are eating I trust its Andy doing the cooking as you are not eating beans on toast. I am glad the weather is improving and you are not going to have to redo the dorothy wizard of oz things although you would be the one in the green trying to steal the ruby slippers and Andy would be the 'tough' lion. Ian is not the one who killed Archie he has been released I think Bradley did it. I hope it wasn't your hot loving that set off the fire alarms and was just the radiated heat of your sun burn! lots of love to you both thanks for the Godparent thing you now have to buy my kids lots of expensive gifts and lead a good moral example well never mind they will just take the money! lots of love Shazzerxxx
