Waw maaaan!!
We are already at Exmouth in the middle of the west coast, and there so much we haven't tell yet! See English version here below..
Kakadu National Park is really worth seeing! It is one of our highlights in our trip! Not only the scenery but also the bush campin' and the walkin' and swimmin' in the best pools ever!
We arrived in Darwin on the 9th of september. And first impression, the weather is even hotter here.. we found a cheap back pack, chilled out for a bit and i, sandra, went walking to discover a bit the center of Darwin.. Which is quite small, with one main street full of bars and backpacker's accomodation.. and i went walking to the beach too, it was nice but not the best i have seen.
On sunday, we went for our 3 days trip to kakadu! That was wicked! We left at 7.30am, with 13 other people and an experienced guide. First stop was at the Mary river, where we did a little cruise on the river to see the wildlife: salt water and fresh water crocodiles, lots of different birds, fishes, trees...After lunch, we went to see some Aboriginal paintings and a nice view over the Aboriginal land. Then, we went to our camp base to start a beautiful bushfire and cook in the bush! We slept for the second time in swags on the ground and we could see millions of stars...
The second day was the best day of the trip! We woke up with the birds.. and after a good beakfast, the guide drove us with the 4wd to the famous Twin Falls! at 9.00 am we started walkin up to the falls.. when we arrived at the top .. No words! it was awesome.. The rocks made of sandstone and with different colours ! From the edge we could see the falls..
Then we stopped for a little swim at the top of the falls while our guide prepared our healthy lunch.
We went all the way down, and took a boat to see the falls at the bottom.. ( yes that's the twin falls).
Then we headed to the JimJim Falls. Those falls cannot be accessed during the wet season. But as we were in the dry season, we could
go walking near the edge of the river to the big pool at the end.. It was also wicked! And we had a nice and cold swim! I had to swim fast to the other edge of the pool..
Then we headed back to the camp.
The third and last day was the Best Swim! We went near Maguk to the gorge.. After an hour walk, we stopped for a while at the top of the falls to have a swim. It was deep natural pools surrounded by the rocks.. you could jump from 8m high in the pool.. and our crazy guide did a huge jump.. from i don't really know 20m high! Better be self confident and know the place!
We went back to Darwin and went out at night with our group.. we meet really nice people!
