There is not much to Alice Springs, it is a small city in the middle of the outback. We took the opportunity to relax here and didn't exert ourselves too much.

We found a kangaroo rescue centre where a guy rescues baby joeys from the pouches of their mothers who have been killed on the road. He then raises the orphaned joeys and when they are old enough he releases them into the wild. We spent a couple of afternoons there cuddling the little joeys in their make-shift pouches. One of them, Ned Kelly, was so small he didn't even have any fur.

Other things we did in Alice Springs were visit the Reptile Centre where we held a snake and several lizards and we also walked to the top of Anzac Hill for a view of the whole city.
