8/27 was a driving day. Other than a brief stint on the right side of the road when I forgot what I was doing, we had no traffic events. I ended up terrorizing a little old lady, but we are crazy Americans after all. We went to a little place called South West Rocks that had several beautiful and deserted beaches. There was also an interesting historic jail that was used to intern Germans during WWI. Today turned out to be a good wildlife day as well. We saw our first kangaroo (other than in the Qantas logo), a peacock, and a whale. We have seen plenty of kangaroo and koala crossing signs along the highway, so we are always on the lookout. We are staying at Darlington Beach Holiday Park in the Coffs Harbor region. We are about four hours south of Brisbane. We had authentic Aussie pies for lunch at Fredo’s Pie Shop.
