Hey yall!
So, since I just caught up with the China post, I thought I would be especially dilligent and put up some pictures from my recent adventures with my friend Naeem. Now- when do I go to school you are probably asking? I just started my second semester today. We got a month off betwixt semesters.
So, I will try and remember as best as possible:
Symbio Wildlife Park- Naeem and I went here to visit with some koalas, some wallabees, Tazzie Devils and of course some 'Roos! It was a good time for sure. A bit cold, but Australian Winter cold which ain't that bad.
Greater Wollongong Area- It is so much fun being a tourist in your own town. We got to check out a lot of fun things includng the local Buddhist Temple (apparently the largest one inthe hemisphere) and Pebblie beach where you can get close to some swamp wallabies and larakeets...)
Sydney Fun!- we had a few occasions to check out Sydney and had a blast! Everytime I got to Circular Quay and check out the Opera house and the Harbour Bridge, I am blown away!
Flying to
Brisbane- we flew to Brisbane and spent a day here checking it out. We met up with Tegan (an awesome woman who used to be an RA in Mountain when I was RM) and her partner Scotty and had an ammmmazing night!
Australia Zoo/Steve Irwin Zoo- Got up SUPER early after a really late night to get the train to the zoo. The zoo was great, very interactive. (for Example they walk wombats around on leashes so you can pet them and get up close.) The show was super cool and the crocs were impressive. It was really sad because there is a super big display to Steve, but its cool to see how many people he has inspired and motivated in terms of animal advocacy and conservation.
Back to Brisbane- It was a really nice town, but not exactly a tourist hot spot- so we hopped on a train and headed to Surfer's Paradise. This place was a a buzz with excitement! However, I would have enjoyed it more if I was about 10 years younger in a Fraternity of some sort. It was club central, but Naeem and I met up with some some friends
of mine (Erin and Kim) and just hung out on the beach and in an awesome Irish pub.
Movie World- Brisbane has a lot of theme parks and we decided to check out movie world. It was a lot of fun with some great rides! It wasn't the sunniest day which was aweosme because it meant that the lines weren't too crazy.
Brisbane- back to Brisbane we went were Tegan and Scott put us up for the night. We had an amazing meal and a really nice sleep. (Its always nice sleeping in a room without 10-12 other people.)
Airlie Beach- the next day we flew to Airlie beach- the gateway to the Whitsunday Islands. This place is a super small town (you can walk the main street in 5 minutes) but it was really packed with backpackers. We had a great time walking around, meeting up with some school chums who were also there and just enjoying the sunshine.
Sailing the Whitsundays- We met up with some friends (Georgina and Colin) and hopped on our boat that was to be our home for 2 days and 2 nights. The ship was called the 'Condor' and
she was a beaut! Us and 30 of our closest friends. It was really beautiful on the boat- saw some dolphins, turtles and the most amazingly clear sky I have ever seen. We got go to Whitehaven beach (allegedly the best beach in the world) and got to snorkle on an amazing reef.
Home again!- WE arrived back to Airlie beach and then began our voyage home. In one day we traveled by boat, car, plane, train, bus and walking. Somehow I was impressed by that.
Anyhoo- we hung out after we got home and made another trip to Sydney for a bit. We just had an amazing time- hopefully the pictures help tell the story!
So yes- I am back at school. Can't believe how fast it seems to be going. Not too sure of my next step, but I am excited to take it!
Lots of love 😊
Adam
PS- not too sure if you noticed, but there was a video on my last posting- of me doing "Hey Jude" with one of my Chinese students, William.

Hey Eh Qay! Looks like life is treating you well. It must have been so nice to hang with Naeem and to show of your new home. Love the Little Mermaid impression. Not too much for me, but then again...I've been known to be a bit over the top at times meself. Thinking of you. Reighzhul xoxox
