Woke up early and Alex drove to Wilson's promontory national park. On the way we had to stop because a koala was running in the road! Once we were in Wilson's prom. We stopped at Cotter's Beach, it was a short walk but was quite strange, it was eerily quiet and looked a bit like the elephant graveyard in the lion king! The beach was empty except for three girls so we just chilled there for a bit. Then we drove to a walk trail at tongues point. It was 4.5k one way so was a bit of a walk. It was very steep but it was worth it because the views were really nice! After we went to a cafe in the park for a bit before driving north towards Canberra. We stopped in a rest area and made dinner then continued north, pulling in at burned bridges rest area.
The next morning we continued the drive to Canberra. When we got there we had a look around. It was strange to think this was the capital because it's really quiet and there wasn't really any high rise buildings or many people! We went to a cafe and then went
down to look at the war memorials. There are loads all down one street for various different wars and people. Then we went into the Australian war memorial and it has the names of all the Australians who have died in wars which was sad as there were so many names! After we drove to milton where we stopped for the night. We watched the film Bad teacher in our van and cooked dinner.
The next morning we showered and drove to Jervis Bay. It was a short drive and we stopped at Hyams Beach, it was beautiful and so peaceful. We chilled on a few different beaches and then took some campervan selfies! Then we were driving towards another beach and a woman told us our wheel looked loose so we drove to a better place to park and called the mechanic. Hank fully he said everything was fine and that maybe just the hubcap was loose so it looked like the wheel was. Then we drove to Manly and found a holiday park to stay the night in.
The next morning we were up early and headed towards glebe in Sydney city centre. We had to give he
car back early the next morning so cleaned everything and washed it ready before finding some free parking in glebe. Then we walked into town and chilled in Starbucks for a bit before getting ready for a night out in our campervan- which was a challenge! Then we walked to Chili blue and had a catch up with everyone there.
The next morning we got up and drove to Botany to drop off the van. Then we checked in at chili Blue and had a nap. After we went to meet Our friend Reece who had checked out and was going to Thailand the following day. We met at an ice cream shop called Messina and Alex, Alan and I said our goodbyes to Reece which was sad... He was part of our Chili blue family!! Then we went back to the hostel and played goon pong and did karaoke in the common room.
The next morning we had a text from Reece saying he had left loads of food in the hostel fridge so Alex, Alan, Jasper and I had spaghetti carbonara and then showed each other our houses on google maps which was really interesting! Then we all
watched Borat with them and the Brighton boys, Joe, Sam, Alex and Warren. In the evening we went to a bar called Sugar mill because Alan had a new job as events manager at the hostel and needed to get lots of people out.
The next morning I had to check out. Alex and I wrote our journals and chilled before I got the train to Carlingford to stay at my Aunties and wait for my sister to arrive! robin picked me up from the trains station and we went for a milkshake and a catch up! Then we just chilled at Lyne and Johns and I packed for my week up the East coast! Alex sent me a photo of a drawing of me they made at the hostel so I wouldn't miss out and could still feel like I was with everyone haha
I'm excited for Nikki to get here 😊
