Oxford St Paddington
Woke at 8:00 to a sunny day forecast to be 29 degrees.
Had tea and the second hot cross bun loaded with butter - yum.

Got out for 10:30 and decided to walk up Oxford street to get brunch where we had a 3 years ago on our long walk to Newtown.
We found Mickey's cafe / restaurant near Paddington Town Hall.
I had a lovely roasted beetroot and lentil salad and Brian had a bacon and egg muffin.
Had come round a bit by lunch time.

Then walked back to the Meriton Kent Street through the area of old Victorian houses, some converted to boutiques and galleries, passing the Royal Hospital for Women Park. Giggled at the 'missing dog' poster.
We re-joined Oxford street near the Victoria Barracks passing the fountain and bars in Taylor Square.
Do you like the Rainbow Flag from the recent Mardi Gras?
we overheard a couple of locals complaining that $40,000 was a waste of money.
I suppose it's a bit like us complaining about the cost of the Darlington train or Gateshead Angel, but we've got used to them now.

As you can see the Sydney areas and streets are all

Town Hall Paddington
familiarly English.
Got a money top-up from our usual bank in World Square and picked up more nibbles from Coles.

After tea and Hot Cross bunnies, we walked to Darling Harbour had the obligatory Movenpick ice cream
and then down to the shopping area of Pitt street on to the Harbour - a hot 27 degrees
There was a guy with sign 'free hugs' walking around, with the occasional amused taker.

The Museum of Contemporary Art in Circular Quay near the Opera House now has a huge mirror in front of it.
We walked back through the botanical gardens, with loads of noisy paraqueets, passed the Domain car park, St Mary's catheral and through Hyde Park.
All the time remembering the day of queuing for the New Year's Eve celebrations 3 years ago.
Don't know what's happened to the flying foxes...

Fell asleep at 18:00, woke at 20:00 but couldn't get going to go out for dinner.
Next thing it was 22:30 and still tired and couldn't be motivated to go out again despite being Saturday.
So we watched a touching foreign film in Spanish about Ramon Sampedro, before crashing out again around 02:00.
