Sydney, our final destination after a Road Trip of 3500 km. We stayed in a hostel in King's Cross which is a 20 min walk to the city centre. I did not mind to walk for a change!

We were lucky with the weather, lots of sun and a good temperature of 25 and up. We spent most of our days outside discovering all small bits of this beautiful, dynamic, modern city. From the Botanic Gardens to Chinatown, from the Darling Harbour to the Opera House… we have done everything. We even spent 1 day relaxing on the famous Bondi Beach. I tried to go in the sea but changed my mind very quickly after having touched the water with my foot… it was Antartica cold and I could just not understand how some people could go in it without turning blue.

The Opera House is really great to look at and you just cannot leave your camera for a second because you want to make sure that you have a picture of every little angle of the building. Also, I learned that it has been a nightmare to build it. They finished it 10 years later then what

was planned originally and was 10 times more expensive to the New South Wales Government then what was mentioned on the estimated first quotation. The architect got even completely frustrated by the job and decided to abandon the project and go back to his home country, Danemark. The Government had to put together a local team to finish it…

Watch out for the chinese, they are very hard to understand… or very clever. There was this king and queen costumes you could try on in the Chinese Gardens next to Chinatown. I thought the lady said FREE to try. I said to myself: Cool let's try it… funny. She actually said, feel FREE to try it… I missed the "feel" somewhere… and she forgot to mention that it was 10 dollars per person… It cost us 20 dollars by the end because I pushed Manuela to dress up as well telling her it was free… we weren't really happy but at least we've got some really funny pictures! As Manuela would say: "la boulette"!!! :-))
