More about the nature park... so in my wandering I found a little children’s zoo. I walked inside and found a bunch of birds walking on the ground, pigs, ducks, rabbits, turkeys, and guinea pigs. Why they had guinea pigs in a zoo in Australia, I don’t know. A lot of the birds noticed my entry, since I was the only one in there. They started casually walking over to me, which freaked me out. I called my friend Rohit to come in and save me, and when he came in they stopped coming at me. We walked around and saw two goats in the zoo as well. When we started walking away, one of the goats started to charge me, so I got out of there.
A girl still had her cup of kangaroo food, so near one of the enclosures with more kangaroos, she started feeding a big one that looked interested in her food. Another big kangaroo came up and tried to eat some too, but there wasn’t room. So he hit the feeding one on the back, made a very angry noise, and then started to eat the food himself. Well, the
One of the fighting kangaroos
He only looks sweet and innocent.. first one didn’t like that, so he did the same thing. Now the second kangaroo fought back again, and the first kangaroo just kind of sat in the corner. I felt bad, and I didn’t like that this girl liked them fighting. So I left that enclosure. This was the same girl who was bitten and still bleeding from a pink cockatoo.
I saw a big sign for dingoes, but the only dingo I could see was asleep, wrapped up like a cat. Later I walked by again just in case, and it was still asleep. But I did see two dingo pups playing on the top of a hill. That was cute. I also saw a crocodile and emu .
Then we went to an Imax movie- something about the oldest trees that were rediscovered in Australia. It was actually pretty interesting, showing the entire wilderness that is at the edge of Sydney. On our way to the Blue Mountains, we watched a documentary on kangaroos.
The Blue Mountains are absolutely gorgeous. The scene from just the main lookout point is breathtaking enough, but we walked a whole 3 hours
down the valley . Thankfully we took the rail car thing all the way back up. The hike was definitely worth the views, but at the bottom of all those stairs, I was literally steaming.
On the way back we watched this Australian comedian, Chris Lilly I think. Pretty funny guy, actually. When we got back, nobody wanted to go out. I did a load of wash just because my pants were muddy on the bottom few inches, and then went to bed. This morning the roommates are going to two different markets that we heard about, but I’m still tired and just need some alone time so I might go a little later.
We have to drop our bags that we’re not bringing on the pre-semester trip to the basement by 3pm, so I have to pack accordingly for that. I’m not bringing my computer, just so my bag is lighter.
