BAZ, G and Cat
Had a long lie today and generally just pottered around until later on. We watched the news footage of the nutters who had been camping out the prime spots the night before, but as it was 30 on the mercury we just opted for a late lunch and a trip to the offy for some more tinnies!! They actually sell Jack daniels and coke in a can here! (( and its a double - messy but fun 😊))

We did not saunter down to the centre of Sydney until 8pm and got a magic spot just opposite the opera house to watch the kids fireworks display at 9pm. This is just a mini display for the young uns but as far as fire works go this was really great - gorgeous watching them erupt over the opera house!! At this point I was really excited about what was to follow at midnight as this was amazing....well the next three hours flew buy thanks to the 4 tins of jd and coke , a poke of chips and cheezy and Grahams banter!

Our spot was amazing and to think that people had camped all day - we were right beside
JD in a Can - JD in a Can - JD in a Can -

still peeshed
the sydney harbour bridge and the big electrical egg timer that was in the centre..luckily we were not too rubbered as many latecomers tried to elbow us out the way...but we managed to stand our ground. To add to the festive spirit a massive super yacht was berthed right beside us and ever so often its horn would blow which caused the crowds to cheer loudly and it travelled back over the thousands like an audable mexican wave....and then midnight....booom

This was $4,000,000 worth of perfectly co-ordinated fireworks that lasted 12 minutes so words can not explain how magnificiant they were !! The bridge is the cenrtre piece but there are 6 barges throughout the harbour and many of the other buildings are used too. Many many yachts are in the harbour all lit up with fairy lights and blowing their horns as the fireworks went off - it was really magical.

I have videod this and hope to upload soon, I was in so much awe of the display at one point of the video you can hear me say "holy ****" so this kinda puts you in the picture of how mindblowing they were...
