G’day! Bottom line: Sydney is awesome! I really like Melbourne, but would move to Sydney in a heartbeat. I have said that although I am having a blast in Australia, I don’t think I could ever live somewhere outside the U.S. permanently—Sydney may be the exception. Mrs. MacQuarie was very influential in the settlement of Sydney and the formation of the local government, thus she was given this chair. I am not an expert on furniture, but I would be pretty pissed if I was given concrete slabs when I was promised a chair. L-R: Mike (NZ roommate), Sally (KC native), Me!

Sydney is full of bats! Around dusk, hundreds/thousands fly into the city. This picture is from Domain Gardens.

This tree-lined road in Hyde Park was full of dangling bats. These are not small bats.....these are the biggest bats I have ever seen. They looked like hawks.
