Edit Blog Post
There seems to be a reccuring theme with these blog entries and that is that they seem to start off with an apology for it being so long since we did the last one.....oops, but to be honest we haven't really had an awful lot to update you with so thought we'd wait untli we had something to update you with.
Last blog we were in Chiang Mai (don't know why you didn't all received that one but we've republished it)...... and there we stayed until the 28th of December. We both decided that it would be really nice to just chill out and have a proper base for a while and Chiang Mai was the perfect place to do it. We spent the days just lounging around, eating, drinking and generally wandering around. We didn't actually get up to alot at all which made a nice change. I went on another trek for 3 days with Sun and spent quite a lot of time with him in Chiang Mai and Vic took a road trip to Burma for a few days which she loved....She'll fill you in on her shananigans on another blog!
Christmas eve we went out with Sun
& Terry (another trek guide) and some other Thai people to some bars where we all had a great time and drank until the early hours.....we had a tiny little headache in the morning but not enough to put us off our roast turkey dinner with all the trimmings in an english pub, very random I know, especially when its scorching hot outside but we felt we had to have some element of tradition to the day.....obvioulsy drinking played a part too!
Didn't really do much then until we left to fly to Sydney on the 28th, we left about 6pm and took another 12hour train journey to Bangkok. (joy oh joy) Checked into a hostel for a few hours kip then caught our flight to Sydney about tea time.
Flight was fine but neither of us managed to get any kip so a bit bleary eyed when Anna and Paul arrived at the airport but we still cried, its was great to see some familiar faces even if they were Anna and Pauls. (only joking guys you know we love you)
Claire and Allan met us there and took us down the the harbour edge for a customary
New Year's Eve!
Our lovely hosts worked hard to reserve us a fantastic spot to watch the fireworks! drink of Champagne before Vic and I headed off to our apartment.
The apartment is in Waverton which is in North Sydney and is really nice - Washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, Sky tv, DVD player so we were like pigs in sh*t as you can imagine, We will never take a washing mashine for granted again!!
Soph and Chris arrived on NYE and we spent that evening in the best spot possible, right on the water just to one side of the bridge so we were directly below the fireworks....they were absolutly mind blowing.....Vic and I both cried!!!
We've been here about 10 days now and have had a great time so far, we've now just about got our bearings on the layout of the city and the transport links and are now looking for jobs...boo hoo 😞 We're got ourselves a little house for the next 3 mths in Milsons Point which is perfectly located for work etc and is only about 5 mins on the train to the city.
Last weekend the 8 of us went camping down to Jervis Bay for 2 nights and had a great time, both days we were on the beach
and spent the evenings drinking and playing cards, us girls went Kangaroo spotting one evening but only managed to spot a lone possom up a tree. Vic has seem a couple though....one being a dead one - lush!
Soph and Chris have gone up to the Blue mountains today for a few days whilst Vic and I try and sort our lives out. I've got an interview with an agency for some mortgage work on Thursday and fingers crossed Vic should be able to get some work fairly easily related to what she does at home which would be ideal.
And thats about you're lot, a bit rushed I know but like I said we haven't been up to all that much.
I've attached loads of photos which you might find a bit more interesting!!!

Thought we'd add a few bits onto the botton of this blog just to update you all with whats happened in the last week or so rather than doing and new blog.
Well the job thing has kind of got off to a slow start (for me anyway...more about that in a min) so Vic is on
full on mission next week to try and find a job so she can go out and buy all the lovely shoes and things she wants to buy! She did find one thing but decided that dressing up in a banana costume wasn't really her thing (there weren't really any banana suits but it was 'promo' work so a bit on the vague side).
We're currently staying with Allan and Claire for a few days so we can get stuff sorted.....well Vic anyway because I've decided to go back to Thailand for a bit. Now, before any of the Ciren gossip gets going and everyone gets the totally wrong end of the stick, we haven't fallen out and we'll be on the phone to each other every minute of the day but we both want to do different things for while so no need to get your tongues wagging....you never know you might even get more blog updates now. I fly out to bangkok tomorrow and will be there anything from 1-8weeks, just go with the flow and see what happens kind of thing.
No need for anyone to worry about either of us as Vic has Allan and Claire
in Oz plus she's met lots of their friends and I've got lots of people I know in Chiang Mai so its all hunky dorey.
We'll email soon......promise!!
Love Sam and Vic
