After tearful goodbyes in Perth, I am heading over to Sydney to spend just three days before Meghan, Greg and I head on over to Fiji. My cab picked me up at 4am Saturday and drove me over to the airport where I spent most of the time tearing up thinking that I was saying goodbye to all my friends. The flights not long and goes by fast and once there I see Meghan immediately.
It is good to see her and her relatives. For the first night here in Sydney we are all staying at her Aunt and Uncles. It is awesome of them to hook us up for the evening. I am exhausted from traveling and staying up all night, but it is cool to be in Sydney. It is a relaxing day where we spend time at the house and then go out for a nice dinner. We go to a little Asian restaurant were we buy a bunch of stuff and all swap the food which is surprisingly tasty. From there we head to a little Irish pub where we grab some beers and watch a game of rugby although most of us have no idea
what is going on.
The next day we spending some time with Meghan's Aunt and Uncle and then in the afternoon we are driven over to our hostel where we are going to spend two days. We are in the heart of Sydney which is awesome because from here we can go exploring on our own. We don't stray far from the hostel just yet, for tomorrow will be our big exploration day. Dinner and drinks at the hostel which has an awesome little club in their basement.
Today we get to really explore Sydney. We bee line it right for the Opera House which is really amazing. It is so large and kind of random looking. We search the premise looking at all the different crazy angles. The design actually won the architect the highest award one can win in the architect world and the Opera House is also a World Heritage Site not to mention probably one of the most recognizable architectural buildings ever.
From their we continue to the Harbour Bridge, where we walked across half of it. It gave us a great view of the Opera House from here where we all snapped
off a few great shots.
It was about time for lunch at this point and we were actually meeting up with a family whose daughter was going to be studying in Tasmania. The girl went to the same school as Greg, Sarah and Meghan so we all met up with them and headed to the Pancakes on the Rock. This may seem like a random destination for lunch but it is the best Pancakes you will ever get.
We parted ways after lunch and our group headed off to the Royal Botanic Gardens. Grey headed fly fox can be found hanging upside down amongst many of the trees and many different birds can be found throughout the different ponds.
Dinner at the hostel and drink in the club. It was a good night to spend our last night in Oz because tomorrow morning we're going to FIJI!!!!!!!
