Hi There. Well, I had an only child day today. Went into Syndey on my tod via the Sea Cat (small boat with animal name). Fantastic views! Although it was pretty windy and I arrived at Darline Harbour with a huge afro. I went to the Sydney aquarium and saw Nemos, touched star fish and got scared of the sharks. Saw a sting ray the size of a dining table! I gave him an angered look just so he knows we're all mad about Steve Irwin. Ate some Calamari when I came out of the aquarium. Feel guilty now. Then tottered off to the New South Wales art gallery for some Aboriginal Art. Lovely Jubbly. All drawn with dots (but not dot-to-dot). I then took a very grown up stroll in the Botanical Gardens. Well, it ... read more

after having an extreamly large night before catching the flight, im a complete wreck on the 1 1/2 hour journey, the little girl next to me was even laughing! Everytime the plane turned i thought the plane was going to crash, so my rule now is to take it easy before every flight........ I got to sydney not feeling good at all. I checked into my hostel, which was run by the same company as the one from Melbrn. But the place was gloomy and didnt have its own bar. I got in to my room and me one of the fellas in my dorm. Some twat from Sheffield. didnt do anything wrong to me personaly but i just got the vibe that the bloke was a bit stuck up his rear end. I went for ... read more

。。 ... read more

'Twas the night before departure, and all through the house, the whole family was packing, except for the mouse (because he's not welcome). It's midnight, Tim's out partying cos he's cool, and I've finally started a travel blog. A word of warning to everyone not tech-savvy - it's really confusing and hard. I guess we've got two months to figure out how to use it. We leave Sydney at 6pm tomorrow night (the 10th). We fly to Bangkok, and then to London. I'm having the hardest time trying to figure out when I'm supposed to sleep to avoid jetlag. I must be the most clueless jetsetter around. I'll try to post every couple of days, so all our fans out there (ok, just Harrow) can miss us lots. Much love to all. Jamie ... read more

Once again we got up this morning and took the ferry to Circular Quay and again to Darling Harbour. We had planned to go the the aquarium first, but the queue was extermely long, and as it was open until 10pm we had then rest off the day to go back. Instead we went to the Maritime Museum. The indoor museum is free to look around and contains lots of relics relating to the Maritime history. The most interesting part was The Destroyer warship and a submarine, both moored in the harbour, which you could freely explore. The submarine was partically interesting to look around and its quite incredible to see how small and claustrophic the quarters were that the crew lived in. The crew slept in bunks just large enough for there strapped-down body, sometimes ... read more

Merry Christmas everyone - where we are it doesn't feel like Christmas - so hot and sunny! Westwood's words.......... G'day cobbers! Wow....... we climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge yesterday - you get the best views up on the summit for miles and miles! Was a bit nerve wracking at first as you can see beneath your feet and you have loads of ladders to climb! You are attached to a wire all the way along and you wear headphones so your tour leader can you give you information along the way. Got some wicked souvenir photos as your not allowed to take anything up there at all. You have to wear a really cool (?!) boiler suit thing which to be fair made us look like GIMPS! Funny though. As the last two days have been ... read more

Hey everyone firstly, apologies for not posting one of these for awhile - we've been having way too much fun! Westwoods up first.............. Well Thailand........ was sad to leave it to be honest - the most beautiful place I've seen up to now! The trips to the islands were AMAZING! We went to James Bond Island (they filmed part of The Man With The Golden Gun there), Phang Nga and Hong Island sea-canoeing, the latter two islands were lagoons that you had to go through caves to get too........... fruit bats everywhere! In one of the lagoons was a monkey sitting in the mangrove trees and we fed him a nana! He took it right out of your hands! The next trip was Phi Phi Islands (we were meant to be visiting Krabi aswell but the ... read more

The Sydney Fair In the middle of 2005, Jenni and I decided a change was necessary. We decided to move overseas to teach. We both agreed that if we ever got to the end of our teaching careers, and hadn't used our qualifications and experience to do some traveling, then we would regret it. We didn't want to end our careers with those regrets. So here we go. With our (then) 11 year old son, Thomas, we went to Sydney to attend a schools' fair and get a job. Here is the story of our overseas teaching adventure. Our first task was to get a job. We went to the Sydney School Fair in December 2006. Our top choice was Hong Kong International School, but would have gone to a few other places. We got ... read more
