G´day mates! (this means pleased to make your acquaintance)

We arrived in Australia and checked into a very comfortable youth hostel with a huge Iron door. There was a nice hospitable Welsh owner who greeted us at the front with a ¨whadayawant??¨ (which we interpreted as - might I enquire about your needs?) actually it was more of a ¨alright bud!¨ this place immediately chilled us out after the long journey. The backpackers from around the world here were extremely cool customers that we could relate to.

Manley (a part of Sydney) was also chilled out, a nice beach and many topless sun bathers and that´s all in AUTUMN. Here we spent our days hiking through the beautiful scenery near spit bridge. Australia already seems to us to be one of the best places to live and as a brit

Time to blend in Australia. Australians seem to have a problem taking photos though. Photo not really focussed?
you can fit in pretty easily as the humour and atmosphere in a way is quite similar.

At last we got the opportunity to try out couch surfing (www.couchsurfing.com) well what can I say, i guess we were really lucky here and fell right on our feet. This was something we were contemplating for some time. We got in contact with one of our fellow couch surfers on the telephone. His name was Michael who sounded very pleasant on the phone and nice and laid back.

Yes!!!!! Sounded to good to be true, but the first stop was to try and create a good impression and blend in, so what did we do but hit the first souveneir shop to pick up something to blend in a bit and not look so much as what the Aussies describe the Brits as ´pommies¨. I was well pleased with my navy blue Australia t-shirt. I believe Nadja´s eyes watered at my efforts. I could tell that she was proud of me. We arrived at the house and were greeted by one of the most welcoming families ever. I was initially mocked for my blending in Aussie t-shirt .You drongo! (meaning

Chris takes us for a surf on Bondi beach. I haven´t told him yet that I am actually a professional.
a rather dimwitted person)however after a glass of wine and a superb dinner everything was all fun and games.

Michael, Meagan, Chris, Terry and Judy plus the dogs Missey and Bella along with all the other people we met were the greatest of company and definitely showed us some of the best sights around. We got to see so much in our relatively short period of time here. Our list included: The Koala Park with wombats, Kangaroos, wallabees, Cockatoos and also Watsons Bay, where people go to sit eat fish and watch Yachts......Bondi Beach for a surf, Darling Harbour, The famous Cafe de Wheels where all the celebs go to including Richard Branson, the Sydney opera house, the bridge, their famous club, The posh Rocks area, watch Michael play AFL football, watching the footy show where the presenters all get drunk and struggle to end the programme, discussing the progress of the trapped miners, lots of wining and dining and so on and so on. We could go on for weeks!

Our Tor co-ordinators Michael and Meagan came up with a superb strategy! we especially enjoyed the meals cooked by Judy a great cook and chilling out on

Nadja hasn´t a clue into this surfing business and she is still unaware that I am actually a pro.
the sofa always with a glass of wine nearby with the laid back boss of the house Terry. Father and son were alike.

Unfortunately my time during the evenings was spent with the chris ´The hustler´ thrashing me at pool. Not sure what Nadja did during this time.

All in all we had a wild time and learnt alot about the Aussie culture all thanks to a tour guides from couchsurfing.

Bytheway there is a possibility that the famous ex liverpool football player Sir Stan Collymore may also be staying with the family. So we could be back sooner than they think!

So its time for us to RACK OFF before we out stay our welcome (the meaning in Australia is that our presence is no longer required!)

This is the local spot here in Aus. They don´t do dogging here like Mr Collymore, they prefer Kangarooing.
