Nala running after her ball
DAY 45

It was nice to wake up in such comfortable surroundings, and getting up at a sensible time.

We got up and attended to the dog first, then us next. This morning we had said that we would take Nala the dog to the beach to give her a good run and as she loves the water, give her a swim.
Caroline had a map of the beaches that was dog friendly and we drove possibly 35 Kilometres to Stockton Beach, and on arrival there were signs up saying “No Dogs On Beach”. We drove on and ended up at Lemon Tree passage beach and let her off the lead, and she bolted for the water. We had taken her tennis ball and her ball launcher, and I have to say she was hopeless and fetching the ball..
In her excitement she would be jumping around, you would launch the ball and she just could not find it. You can get one of the rubbish dogs at WWW.rubbishdogs.com I don’t think Nala could find anything that was attached to her nose..
Unfortunately she chased after two little girls, and as hey ran away she just thought it ws

a game, and chased them even more. Eventually we had to put her on the lead and move way further down the beach, where we were on our own.

We both had a bit of a paddle whilst walking Nala down the beach, then let her off the lead and launched her ball for her again, and that was that, it was never found as she must not have had her ball finding nose on. Similarly when we threw the ball in the garden she couldn’t always find that. Still she is only a puppy.

We got back, and as she had been in the sea has that salty seadog smell so we decided to turn the hose pipe on, as Faye said she liked it. The face we got from the dog was I don’t like that, leave me alone.

The rest of the day was quite uneventful and we just did some house work, played with the dog and watched television.

We did some research on going to Tasmania and we think we should be going there about end of February. It’s a 10 hour ferry trip from Melbourne to Devonport and we will

Everyone who has spoken about Tasmania has said it is absolutley beautiful.

Off to bed with Nala's bed brought in to our room and we all seem to go to sleep imediatley.
