DAY 407
When I awoke this morning it was hard to swallow, my throat seemed to have swollen to bigger proportions in the night, I knew that Andy and Helen will have gone out first thing, Helen needed to help prepare Eurongilly Hall for the carol service tonight, I wanted to help but I was still asleep when they left.
Eventually Andy and Helen came back, I went out to see them but got sent back to bed again, I slept for a little longer but then just lay in bed to read for a while. Eventually at 11.00 I got out of bed, I could not stay there any longer.
I wasn’t going to be up to much today, but needed to feel like I was doing something and besides if I spent all day in bed then I am sure I would not have been allowed to go out to play tonight, I am keen to go to the Carol service at Eurongilly, apart from being sociable it will make it nice and Christmassy.
When I appeared on the veranda I find Andy and Helen sat there they are cutting up material for rags, which
Andy
sorting the cups out for tea will go into the shed for Robert and Jason to use.
Kimba was wandering around, apparently Robert left her behind as she was misbehaving this morning, as all the others were out and about I let Tiny out for a run as always she was pleased to see me, very much like Trixie (she is Trixie’s sister) she is very excitable and always wants a lot of fuss and attention over and above the others!
I at a little bit for lunch, but not particularly enthused by food, and as it was Saturday afternoon, I sat and watched a chic flick, 27 dresses with Katherine Heigl, a feel god film that was nice and easy to watch.
Everybody was busy doing things around me, I had not real energy to join in, but eventually needed to get ready for the carol service tonight, Jason phoned, Andy told him about the carol service so he said that him and Kristy would come along too.
Helen prepared some cake, we all drove down, there was a small hive of activity going on, someone was preparing the electric organ, a man on a guitar and there was another man
standing at the back of the hall listening and making sure the sound was ok, I was later to find out that he was the local vicar.
Andy and I helped get the cups out, Helen and a couple of other CWA members got the table ready for supper taking place after the Carol service.
The Carol service was great, simplistic with the traditional Carols, like “oh come all ye faithful” and “Silent Night” they always get you in the Christmas mood.
The man who was standing at the back of the hall introduced himself as the Reverend and much to our surprise he also introduced us as visitors from the UK, which was nice, and everyone seems interested in our travels.
Amongst the carols a few of the local children did some readings from the bible, Helen also stood up to do a reading, but the best bit was when the Reverands wife, who was also on the keyboard, dressed up as a shepherd and took out a puppet shepherd and questioned “the puppet” about what happened when Jesus was born. The young children in the front row watched with delight but when they realised
their older siblings where nothing short of embarrassed by the puppetry, they too took on a more sombre role, however she did very well with the puppetry and the rest of the audience enjoyed the show.
The service was short and simple, 32 people turned up to enjoy the community evening which was nice, then afterwards we all went into the back room to enjoy a cup of tea and eat the sandwiches and cake that had been brought in for supper.
We all stood around talking and meeting new people then eventually went all went back to Woodstock and sat in the kitchen having a well earned drink after all that singing.
Soon it was late and time for bed, Jason and Kristy left and a moment later we all went to bed, so we bid you a good night.

How do you manage to get a new blog on the front page when there was already one there? Ten minutes ago, there was Santa outfits and now you've replaced that blog without it sliding off the bottom of the page! I'm fogged! Happy Christmas to you both..
