Talk about (not) roughing it. Yes we may have slept on uncomfortable foam mats hidden in the dunes but as planned the day started with delicious breakfast and equally delicious coffee from Tallwood restaurant. As I mentioned, this is one of the best restaurants we have been to on the South Coast so if you are travelling through Mollymook you should check it out. Caloried and caffeinated up we headed through Ulladulla on the Princes Highway-- the least inspiring part of the walk but an essential hunting and gathering trail as it went right past a Woolworths. Armed with credit cards (essential hunting and gathering tool) we stocked up on some supplied including a few treats like fresh fruit and vegies. One of the great things about doing a walk that does go through towns is ... read more

Today was awesome and saw us leaving Cudmurra beach at around 7.50am (after a lazy morning and slow breakfast on the beach), having lunch and a swim at Bennalong beach and arriving at Mollymook at around 5.30pm. It was a day of amazing skies and vistas, meditative thoughts, exciting rock pools, deserted spaces, mixed walking over sand, through dunes, over headlands and through acacia / tea tree forest with a bit of heath and grassland/eucalypt forest thrown in. There are also good things about walking through towns when on a long walk... like coffee! On walking through Berrara (a really sweet little town with a nice caravan park) we were stoked to see a sign promoting "bonza coffee" from a coffee van. And it was pretty bonza too. It gave us the energy required for the ... read more

In search of we are not sure what ?? 2014-06-18 It's called retirement, I think. Here we are at Alfies on Berry, a B&B, you’ll find them on the town’s official website. I quote from the town’s website: “The town of Berry is one of those rare finds. Set amongst the rolling green hills with the Cambewarra range providing a stunning backdrop, the landscape is unparalleled in NSW” I quote because I agree with the tourist talk. We drove thru a stunning , stunning kangaroo valley, both the pass and the town to get here. We will certainly have to drive back this way , it was too dark and too fast to take pics. “Berry is the first truly rural town south of Sydney, a mere 2 hour drive (it took us 4 and a ... read more

We left Melbourne in our last campervan trip heading back to Sydney. And this one had no rain :). We had 2 days to do about 1000km so we couldn’t stop off as much as we wanted to but we still got to see some good stuff. We cut it a bit too fine with the petrol on the first day and ended up sleeping at a petrol station as it we’d run out and it was closed! We got going and stopped off at some lovely deserted beaches. One of which we were joined by a pod of dolphins who came up close in the breaking waves whilst we were tucking into morning tea! Then on a bit further we were joined by baby whales who also came to say gday. We got back to ... read more
