First Sunrise at sea.
Queen Mary Day 2

The sun rose over the ocean to start the day. What a sight to behold.

While Phillip walked around the deck 4 times, Jennifer made her start to the day. Breakfast was held in the Britannia Restaurant. Jennifer had scrambled eggs and Phillip had a personalised omelette with English bacon. We returned to our room and after a while we both fell asleep for half an hour! Apparently many on board did the same.

Had a little wander around the ship finding shops and the library – all of a sudden it was lunchtime! So back to the Brittania Restaurant and instead of sitting by ourselves, we joined a table with a couple from Perth, two sisters, one from Melbourne and the other from Merimbula in NSW. Also at the table were a mother and daughter from Owen near Balaclava, Dorothy and Derrilee, who both knew the Kennetts of Kadina, probably Max’s and Keith’s father.

Once again the meal was delicious. After lunch Phillip spent time in the Library preparing a study for Bible Class while Jennifer did some shopping and had a wander around

Looking out the cabin at the deep blue sea.
the ship.

The Captain advised that we passed Smokey Cape around noon and expected to pass Cape Byron about 8.00 p.m.

After some relaxation in the cabin we readied ourselves for the formal dinner! Dinner this evening was beautifully prepared barramundi for mains, with shrimp and broccoli soup for entrees. Fortunately the food sizing is just right which enabled us to have a dessert of steamed treacle pudding with custard!!!

After dinner we enjoyed some entertainment from a trio of young women dressed in beautiful 1950’s style dresses with hats. They sang 1950s and 1960s songs.

Off for another cup of tea before retiring to our cabin (or should we say Stateroom as they are called)! The ship is rocking a bit more tonight as there is a moderate swell of 7.5ft (2 ½ metres).

Goodnight to 15 March 2014.

Moonrise over the Ocean - how good is that? We should have a full moon rise in a day or so.

Pitts
Thanks It is nice to hear about your holiday. Uncle Phil looks a bit grand in his bow tie and the white hankie, (hope you don't need it, its too good to use!!!!). Hope you'll still have tea with us after all that service. Next time you come we will have to wash your feet and get out the slippers. John has enjoyed another one of your jigsaws. We dug up our winter veg patch today. Planted poppy seeds Saturday So hopefully there are some lovely plants when you come over next. Marty is interviewing Jonathan and Vanessa tomorrow to join Kersbrook, so that will be nice to have some more join. I want to know how big the waves get while you are away. It must be amazing to see so much of the ocean and Gods wonders. I wonder if you will see some whales. We know that you will see beautiful sunsets and rises and remember that God is looking after his people. Well take care and come back super fresh. xx
