In 1770/Agnes Water I ended up doing very little, we wanted to surf because the lessons were $17 for 2 hours, bargain, but the place was so insanely chilled out that even the waves were non existent. We wanted to get out but ended up staying there longer than expected when we messed up the bus (actually we forgot to book it in time :/ haha), but it was a nice and cheap few days chilling on the beach and enjoying the weather. We even rented bikes and went for a ride round 1770, i looked hilarious in my helmet and eating a sausage roll as i went along!
When we eventually did escape the place I got the bus to Brisbane to look for work, and Jonny went to Noosa. One day into Brisbane though and Id given up on looking for work and decided I dont like cities anymore, theyd be fine to work in long term and live there, but as a traveller they are just boring its all buildings and nothing to do. I managed to go on a ferry cruise though and saw most of what there was so be seen, and that afternoon went
to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary which I absolutely loved! These few days were the first on my own completely, I was so ready for my own space for a while and a little adventure. Within an hour of being in the hostel Id been invited to a house party and made a new best friend in a norwegian girl who had just come to the end of travelling on her own and could share all her stories with me and she really made me look forward to being on my own and meeting new people its so easy! Even going to the koala sanctuary I befriended a guy on the bus on the way who I ended up going round the place with, I literally never have a minute to myself and I love it! That night I met up with Jonnys sister and her friends, and went on another night out 😊 met some aussie lads from brisbane uni that night which was fun.
The next morning I got my bus to Surfers Paradise to meet up with Baxter and Alex who Id met in Airlie and we went to Magnetic Island with, plus it turned out
Jonny and Tom were staying nearby and so Emily and her firned were getting the train thgere too for the day! Nice big group of people to meet up with and so we all went for drink at an irish pub and then eneded up drinking in the back of alex and baxters van. The big night out i envisaged didnt go to plan but it was a laugh and great ti see everyone again. The next morning I hjad a bit of a mare with housekeeping and ended up being kicked out by the manager, but it all worked out for the best as I then moved to a hostel $10 cheaper and far nicer. Plus, very exciting, I ended up staying in the same room as 3 welsh girls who had also been in my room in airlie and again in Brisbane, and they were also heading to Byron Bay the next day at the same time as me! Small world or what. So im currently still travelling with these girls in Byron until I leave for Sydney tonight, ready to make my big move from oz to South Africa! They are such a laugh, we are having the best time Ill be so sad to leave these guys 😞 They were infact the reason for the title when in oz to this blog! What happens in oz stays in oz, generally.
We had such a great night out in Surfers with 18 of us going out on a night organised by the bar staff that included lots of free goon and nice men haha. Such a good night, arent they all, but I dropped my camera and so am now carrying 2 dead cameras in my rucksack, and will have to buy yet another one for africa! what an idiot. strange that my 5 quid phone has survived all this time, yet the expensive stuff always gets ruined! So anyway after a very funny and eventful night we got the bus to byron and here we are now, sat in an internet cafe drinking yet more free goon. The first day we travelled and that night i was in bed by 10pm for the first time in a long time! I slept right through and god it was good. The next night though we were back on it and it was over to Cheeky monkeys to dance on the tables, but it was a pretty quiet one really the place would be so much better in summer when its busier. That day we got the bus to Nimbin and saw the waterfalls along the way. Nimbin is ccrrrraaaazyyyyyyyyy its just druggies everywhere. The whole place just sums up hippies really i absolutely loved it! Every time you take a step down the street you get offered cookies/weed by people that look like tramps but often have dreadlocks, it was hilarious! We made the most of the place 😉 and free bbq and headed back for free dinner at the hostel. love food way too much. Today we slept in and then walked to the lighthouse that is the most easterly point of australia, the views were gorgeous as we made our way up, and we even saw DOLPHINS! Actual dolphins swimming through the waves not far off shore. It was amazing!
So tonight its back to Sydney with a girl called Jess from my room we went out with last night, two ngiths there and then I leave oz and fly to africa on sunday!!!!!! Cant believe how fast times going I really dont want to leave but im so excited for the next phase of my trip! Its been an absolutely funny as fuck few weeks here....but what can I say: When in Oz!!!
