Just a small fruity cocktailJust a small fruity cocktailJust a small fruity cocktail

These melon drinks seemed to get better the more you drank. So we did!
Had a drink and watched a guy play his didgeridoo by the beach with the moon in the background and a big screen showing photography from around australia on the first night in Byron bay which really got us into the laid back lifestyle that is the first part of the gold coast.
Visted the highest point where the first spec of sunlight hits on the eastern coast of Oz which was renamed by Captain Cook 'Mount Warning' after he crashed his boat nearby! Saw the now dormant volcano called the 'Sleeping Giant' which was really picturesque, the photos will not do the true beauty of this natural phenomenon justice.
The surf here is the best we have experienced yet. Been on body boards all day and caught some really big waves. Cant wait to get surfing lessons a bit further north. The town is so relaxed and there are plenty of lovely restaurants including a great mexican with tasty Margaritas where we indulged ourselves last night.
The beach is less than a minute away, the sand is so fine and the sun is scorching! Paul Hogan (Crocodile Dundee) lives nearby and owns the best hotel and bar on ther beach

Spent half the day walking up and down the beach and got our first bit of sunburn.
where a different band plays every night, if it was a bit cheaper then maybe we would stay longer. Our bus leaves today at 6pm for Surfers Paradise. (3 o'clock now)

Photos will follow shortly when i have more time.
Chow for now folks..
