1) Some people believe that Columbus Day should not be celebrated. They believe this because what Columbus caused and what he did to the natives. Columbus caused the slave trade to grow, and forced labor, he also killed many of the natives by sending them to Spain or forcing them to work for him. The king and queen sent a royal administrator who detained him and his brother and sent them back to Spain. In the end people believe he should not be celebrated for discovering the new world.

2) I didn’t really have a reaction to this because I already knew this. But I believe we should still keep the holiday because this is the man who discovered the Americas when he discovered them he changed the world just by finding a new place this is why I believe we should keep this holiday.

3) This relates to class by when we were learning about Columbus and his discovery of the new world and how his discovery changed everyone’s lives in the Americas.
