As we are nearing the end of the quarter, it will be valuable to engage in some motivation to end the year well. For this RIHLA:

• Give a shoutout (AND EXPLAIN WHY) to 2-3 senior Firecats that you think are performing well academically or in class for some other Noble reason.

To the UICCP senior class of 2012,

Our journey has been long and rough. From going to school in the Forum, breaking through 21, losing friends, seeing Mr. Sicat make a difference in CPS, losing some teachers, and having a rough last yeat. Although these are the last few months, this end is the start of a new beginning. In a few years, we will not be the same firecats. We will be those people who we have searched for. I would like to take a moment to congradulate all of you because after all the drama, we are still here. There are a couple of people that deserve a special recognition:

1. Desiree Salazar: Since the beginning, Desiree has showed a sense of capability. Even when we were all complaining about senior year, she was still the strong pillar. I remember asking other students, "Did you do your homework?", Desiree would always give a nod. Desiree, you deserve a shout out for always giving it your all!

2. Salud Santoyo: I recently learned about the help that she has been giving families. Salud created a project to distribute smoke detectors during report card pick up. By doing so, she gave families security. This took place last year, and it is still existant today.

3. Adrian Villareal: I do not know Adrian very well, but this year I learned about the hard work he is capable of putting forth. Whenever I am in chemistry office hours, I see him there as well. He has carried himself through Chemistry and is still going strong.
