During the roman age marriage was different from today's society. Back then marriage was settled by a person's family. Families would come together and talk to other families in search of a candidate for their son or daughter that would raise the families rank in society. The men would be in their mid-twenties while the girls would be in the beginning of their teen years. In order to marry you had to be a Roman citizen. The marriage is official when both man and woman kiss and sign a written agreement. As far as tradithions go, a man was to carry his wife over the threshold be uase it was said if the woman trips it is a bad omen. Some marriages are also dependent on the amount of money they have when marriage is preformed.
