Day 2-
Day 2 started with a pancake breakfast at the 75 year old Chateau Dinner. After a glorious breakfast feast we packed up our third floor room and checked out. Luckily we still had more time at Oregon Caves for the cave tour, where a ranger guides you through a big cave. The wholes tour is 90 minutes and it well worth it. The stream runs right through the cave so it is really cold and wet. The temperature in the cave is about 44 degrees and there is a definite draft throughout the cave. There are places in the caves were you have to crouch really low so that you don’t hit the ceiling. There are lots of tunnels and huge grottos and chambers. All filled with stalactites and stalagmites. Our guide was really nice and taught us all about the different types of cave formations, such as cave popcorn, bacon and many more. All the mineral water forms the formations and we learned a lot about how the water from above ground seeps through and takes the minerals with it. Then it hardens after a while and then adds on drip by drip. We finally finished after

seeing some preserved bear bones (that had been there for about 4000 years) we exited the cave. The weather was boiling hot compared to the freezing cave. After that we got in car and said goodbye to Oregon Caves. We drove for about 3 hours until we finally got to Crater Lake National Park. We have been here before when I was little but it was a lot different. It seemed bigger but just and beautiful as I remembered it. We didn’t do much just check in and take some pictures at the rim. Then we got ready for dinner. The food was phenomenal and the huckleberry ice cream was to die for. Then we took some amazing pictures of the sunset and went to bed so that we could get ready for the long day ahead of us.
