Lucky Craig - fathers day here in USA today, so breakfast in bed for me, bit disappointed though, no cards from the kids, never mind you will be able to make up for it in September.
Went for a Sunday drive out to Shasta Dam, provides power for over 2 million people, and more importantly irrigation water for as far down as Los Angeles. Also a recreation area and we saw lots of boaties and fishermen making the most of this beautiful day. Went for a walk across the dam and spotted all the Osprey Hawks perched amongst the Power station poles. There is armed security present, this has only been since 9/11, they are there to ensure terrorist acts don't happen again.
Further on up SH5 after crossing Lake Shasta a number of times we ended up in a Private Camping area, before heading back into town.
Around to the Sun Dial Bridge, quite an engineering wonder, built by a Frenchman, the tower is a sun dial and accurately tells the time, at 2.45pm the mark was spot on. The deck of the bridge is glass, although not entirely see through so everyone was

Shasta Dam, Lake Shasta and Mt Shasta in the backgroundquite happy to walk across.
Bit hot in the afternoon (27C) so caught up on some household chores, then went down to the pool, Sam had a swim while i caught up on some e mails.
Steak for dinner, then out to fuel up for tomorrow and a walk around town, spied a few car sales, but they don't advertise prices so no better off as far as what they sell for.
