Day 5:
We are in Saranac Lake village enjoying coffee and pastries. Right now we are still learning the subtleties of pack canoeing but thus far the paddle has been excellent, minus a couple of navigation errors. The weather has been extremely rainy but tolerable. It appears that the next few days of paddling will be difficult but hopefully we will not be slowed down too badly.

Welcome! My name is Andy Boone and I am hiking the Pacific Crest Trail with a good friend of mine Mosa Shayan. We are working our way from the Mexico/US boarder to the Canada/US boarder. There is about 2,600 miles of trail through the best mountains out west. We start in the middle of the desert and hike north 700 miles to the start of the Sierra Nevada. Then after 900 miles of the Sierra Nevadas we reach Oregon and the Cascade range that we follow up through Washington to Canada.... full info

Where?
Your first blog entry told of your hike in California. Your second (Day 5) says you are at Saranac Lake. I Googled that to learn you are now in New York state. Google also showed a nice satellite view of the area. Thanks for the opportunity to 'follow' you on your epic trek!
