Big tree
How small does she look! I joined a tour ran by a company called Trek America on the 16th of October, there were 14 people in all, 10 girls, 4 lads... one was with his girlfriend, one was the tour guide and the other didn't drink so there were no nights out in sight!
There were 2 Korean girls, 1 Polish Girl, 1 Japanese, 4 English, 1 Finish, an Aussie Couple, 1 American tour guide guy, and 2 English guys including me!
After a safety talk and various forms we filled out we set off to Yosemite national park, it felt like it took us days to get there but it was well worth it, the place is amazing, puts the Lake District to shame.
We were first taken to see some bloody huge trees, giant sequandas or something, pretty impressive things, and there was one that had fallen down years ago that was hollow inside and you could crawl through it, the length of the thing was maybe more than 100 yards.
After that we headed of to the campsite and set up the tents, once rthat was done we all set abvout our various chores, we were split into 4 groups amd each day
Water fall
The lowest one on the trail one either cooked, cleaned the van, were on van loading or unloading duty, or dishwashing, pain in the arse but it is fair that way i suppose.
That night was cold, very cold and nobody was prepared for it.
The next day we were let lose on our own in the park to do the half dome trail, its about 8 miles long and uphill all the way but well worth it for the views, didn't help my vertigo at times though, i think some people made it right to the top or as far as you could go anyway, the group i was with took our time and got to the second highest point.
That night was also cold, but not as bad because we all wrapped up in loads of clothes this time.
Next day we set of to Vegas, took about 8 hours and was over 400 miles, every mile it got warmer which was nice, and when we finally got there it was beautifull, not that it really mattered cos we were in a hotel for the next 2 nights anyway.
The night started of brightly with a few drinks and everyone was getting merry, there
Mountain Squirrel
These things were really friendly, and very cool. was even a suprise limo ride to take us to the other end of Vegas which was weel cool cos it was one of them stretch hummers, sadly that was to be the end of the fun really, we got out and watched the show on the ceiling of Fremont street which was the most pointless thing ever, then spent the rest of the night walking vast distances between casino's, did we not hike at yosemite?!... all i wanted to do was get hammered and go to a club, but no, they ended up having a chinese meal at 11pm and me and another lad sat looking for the footy scores tottally bored, ended up in bed at about one stone cold sober!
Next day we set off exploring in the morning but all met back at the hotel to go for an amazing buffet at the casino that is shaped like a pyramid... forget the name but the food was brilliant that night we went round some casino's and i lost a shit load - $1, they are amazing inside, ended up at the top of the stratosphere at about ten past 12 at night taking pictures of vegas
at night which was amazing and they even have some crazy ass rides up there that hang you off the edge.
Next morning we set off to the Grand Canyon, some people had helicopter tours of it before hand but we were led to the edge with paper bags on our heads, when he took them off it was an amazing view, you cant really describe it, just go see it if you haven't, hung around for a while taking pics then set up camp for a freezing cold night, the coldest yet, i got about 3 hours sleep. In the morning we were up at 5am to go see the sunrise at the canyon, looked great and i got loads of pics. Headed of to the Colorado river for the final night, in 5 hours of driving we went from freezing at the canyon to sunbathing and swimming in the river, was really relaxing and a good way to end it, after that relaxing night of warmth we setof to L.A where the tour was to end, the Trek was ok but i much prefer travelling independantly - cant spell that!

Its all good cuz
Heya cuz, Can’t believe you went and wasted all that hard earned $$$$$ in the bloody casino's, you are gonna have to sell your body to recoup the lost funds so the rest of your trip is possible. Sounds as though you are still having a blast even though you aint been able to get ratted whilst on the Trek thingymajig. Did you make yourself available to the Jap lasses or even the Polish bird? I bet they would have kept you warm on those cold evenings whilst camping :-) You have a good eye for scenery as well fella, got some brill pics up on this here travelblog, just need to get a few females in shot whilst out in L.A to really excel and do yourself justice. Keep in real cuz All the best.
