Skyline
Trek America finished at a hotel near LAX called the Hacienda, id booked to stay there for 1 night after the Trek as i couldn't be arsed trapsing acroos L A after an 8 hour drive and little sleep, was a decent hotel with a pool and a jacuzzi which we used for a few hours that evening, had a few beers in the bar and a Japanese curry before going to bed.
The next morning we were up at 8am sharp because John (from the trek) was meeting some others at Universal Studios at half 9, and my hostel was only 2 stops before his.... interesting scenery on the train ride through some of the rougher neighbourhoods, but it was safe enough onboard.
The hostel turned out to be ok, and i met a Japanese guy that i spent 2 days with seeing the sites. To be honest there arent that many sites that were worthy of a picture, a few stars on the pavement caught my eye, and the obvious pic of the sign had to be done but other than that Hollywood is pretty much full of sh*t tourist shops and pizza places, Ali G/Borat had the premier

The sign
of his new film on my first night but i totally forgot and missed it, heard he was talking to the crowds and was very funny though.
My second day was mostly spent on the sodding bus going to Venice Beach, once we finally arrived after 70,000 stops we rented some bikes for a few hours and saw Santa Monica pier, Muscle Beach which only had 2 guys there - both suprisingly lacking in muscle, a load more sh*t touristy shops and some canals believe it or not, yes Venice beach actually does have a few canals. The night was spent consuming a 6 pack of lager outside the hostel.
Day 3 i headed to Universal studios on me own, had a good day though, filled in 6 hours or so, did the Studio Tour which was pretty interesting, the Jurrasic Park ride, the Water World Show, Terminator 3d, a haunted house (rubbish), some special effects shows and other stuff, was plenty there to entertain my simple mind anyway! After that i headed out to the nearby shops and popped my Starbucks cherry and wasted an hour playing on an xbox in some random shop, picked up another 6 pack

Venice Beach
on the way back and drank them watching the free comedy show in the hostel.... maybe 7 acts, only the last 3 were funny, after that me and a guy from the dorm headed out to celebrate our last evening in the States only to find that everywhere closed at 2am and it was about 1am already, not impressed!!! I mean its L.A and everywhere closes at 2!?!!? Pussies.
Woke this morning and had to check out at 10am so today im wandering around aimlessley trying to waste time untill my shuttle to the Airport at twenty past 7 tonight.
L.A is a good place to visit but its just far too big, and a bit tacky! I'd say Universal Studios was the highlight.

I've had a good time in the states, met some good people nd had good times, New York is the best place ive been, there really isnt anywhere like it and id say everyone should go at least once.

Anyway i head to Fiji tonight, looking forward to a change of scenery, and i probably wont manage to update this untill i reach Australia on November 9th, so its sunshine all the way now
