Rome's weddings,marriages, and divorces
Parents of Romans would choose who their kid would marry. The girls would marry in their early teens while the guys would marry in their Mid twenties. Parents would decided on their child's partner in marriage by deciding on someone who would help improve the families wealth and social class. There were different rules for different people. For example Free citizens couldn't marry citizens and soldiers were only allowed to marry under certain circumstances. The main concept was the same as today's. They would agree to marry each other and celebrate with a party. The Romans had to sign a paper.
Divorce was just as easy. Divorce was common in the higher class. They would just invite each other to not live with one another and the women would go back into the care of her father and or be independent as she was.
