From the decision of the destination, through the search for information and reservations, the better we plan the more we can save.

Set the holiday period

For most Spaniards, the broadest holiday period is usually in the months of July, August or September. Although there are work situations in which it is not possible to know it in advance, defining as soon as possible on what exact dates we will have vacations is essential in the planning of a trip.

This will depend on the choice of destination, so that in the next phase -find information- we can discard places according to the date: for being high season (with exorbitant prices), because the weather is not the best or, On the contrary, decide for a site because in those days there is an event that we want to attend.

Search for information

With the holiday weeks already marked on the calendar, the next thing is to determine where we will go this year.

Some people have their list of favorite destinations and are choosing, according to the order of the list, which at each moment is best suited to their economic situation and, of course, what they most want that year. Others ask for advice from friends or relatives and repeat their trips letting themselves be guided by their experiences.

As we already told you, with social travel, the latest idea could be extrapolated to the whole world. To deepen our candidate places and what it would cost us to go to each of them there is nothing better than knowing the opinion and tricks of other travelers in: forums, comments on pages such as Minube or Tripadvisor and in the abundant travel blogs.

Book accommodation

As for the reservation of the accommodation, the best and most economical sites are no longer found in the travel guides. The social travel has also imposed here and now find the most valuable information rummaging in the comments pages as Booking, Agoda, Atrapalo or advisor, or by following the recommendations of forums and travel blogs.

On the other hand, in hotel search engines such as Booking, it is increasingly common to cancel for free until the day of booking. So we can reserve a room that we think is good and cheap, and if we find an even better room later, we will have the possibility to change it.

And why not try Couchsurfing or Airbnb? As we tell you in the article on social travel, they are very interesting options although, depending on individuals, they require more communication and prior planning. It is evident that all this search for accommodation should worrying about not having enough time and that the sooner we reserve the best prices.
