Buenos dies mi amigos from senor Dave (working on Spanish for our Argentina- Uruguay trip) today’s adventure golfing in Jackson Hole.

We awoke this am to clear skies and cool temps, after a hearty breakfast at the Granary, We bolted to Teton Pines Country Club. Amanda has somehow agreed to let me golf as long as she can come with and play. This will be her second time playing and why not let her experience a Jack Nicholas course.

After we checked in at the pro shop, we went down stairs to meet Jim. He was the course starter and generally knew everybody at the course. Amanda, of course started taking pictures and after the first one, Jim informed us that she was shooting Dick Cheney’s house. We both started laughing out loud. Us and the Cheney’s hanging out? Not in this life time. Anyway, Amanda played great during the first 6 holes, but then she hit a divot with her driver and I could see her whole body shake. God, how many times has that happened to me? As for my game, the cobra rentals treated me well until it came to putting. WHEN WILL I STOP 3 PUTTING????? During the

last couple of holes, the clouds started rolling in over the range and we could see rain and lightning at the mountain tops. We finished just in time as the rain hit us as we loaded the car.

After a quick stop in Jackson, and the rain was really coming down, we started thinking of things to do other than going back to room. We took out the map and realized that Idaho was about 20 miles away. I’ve never been to Idaho, so what the hell, we were off. We drove thru this great canyon (Grand Teton Pass) with a 10% grade change and twists and turns that make a NASCAR road course look easy. Once thru the canyon, we hit the state line and into Victor Idaho. Victor is a town of about 8900 and 1 main street. We explored as much as possible and 15 minutes later we were back on road to Jackson. We stopped at some forest preserve and tried to get out and walk but the rain was getting heavy. Once back in Jackson, we went to a pizza place (a Mellow Mushroom rip off that does not serve slices. Damn.) and grabbed

What a way to spend a beautiful day
a late lunch.

That night we met up with the Amanda 'rents (Jeanie and Breen) for cocktails and dinner. We had a minor celeb sighting; at the table across from us was Jim O’Brian. I think he coached the Celtic’s and the 76ers. I really don’t remember which one was first but both teams he coached sucked anyway.

Not as fun as the pig wrestling, but a good day none the less.
