Day 8/Day 9

Day 8- We decided to sleep in today. Ended up going to the Pineview Reservoir near by. The water was a perfect temp for the hot weather (in the 90's). We brought snacks and sandwiches. Nice beach-like type of day. On our way home we took a detour to check out Powder mountain ski resort, another winter family favorite. Heading to Jackson, WY tomorrow.

Day 9- Arrived in Jackson to my dad's friend, Jeffrey's, house this afternoon. He is kind enough to put up with us for a few days. Spent the afternoon exploring the town square. My dad insisted that we go for a drink at the famous Cowboy Bar, so we did. A little background, my Dad spent a few years in Jackson in his twenties (with Jeffrey) and has been full of good advice on some things to check out as well as things that no longer exist since he last lived here, some 30ish years ago. After, we caught the Jackson Hole Shootout (15 minute theatrical street performance) followed by a nice dinner out on the patio. We wrapped up our meal just in time for the first rumble of

thunder to roll over head. We still had a 15 minute walk back. Yep, you guested it... It started to rain large scattered drops with loud thunder and lightning over head. We power walked as best we could to avoid the full down pour. We made it just as it really started to come down, and then it hailed! Gotta love those summer thunder storms!! We are planning to go white water rafting on the Snake River followed by a good ol' fashion Wyoming Rodeo tomorrow. Yee-Haw!
