So Seattle is unique in America, in that the only way to get around is by boat or boat-plane. Here's the proof:

Weird huh. All the people have to live on water, in fact, some don't even want to admit they do, going so far as to modify boats so much that they look like normal houses that you and me would live in:

Freaky stuff. But here's another of Seattle's best-kept secrets: the Space needle. This is a CIA cover-up as they didn't know what to do with the UFO that crash-landed in watery Seattle. So all the residents were given new house-boats for keeping their mouths shut, or drowned if they didn't, and the US government made up the Roswell story to deflect world-wide attention then simply elevated the fallen space-ship on top of 3 big legs and took on the pilots as employees (that didnt work out as they would have liked though, since in Alpha Centauri they get TEN weeks vacation - "they get 6 weeks in Europe" the Zeetoloid pilots kept telling them, but it didn't work so they moved to France and opened a kebab shop.):

And here's some evidence....here comes the Mother Ship...

Hovering....scanning for it's lost pilots, then, "FUCK! What the hell are Bob and George doing landing on top of that dumb flag-pole?!! I TOLD you they should never have got the Earth mission! In Saucer Driving School they were rubbish. Bob couldnt even manage a 3-point turn, let alone reverse park! What happened to them anyway.....no signals these days except some weird transmissions with things like 'two doners with extra chili sauce' - is it a code? Did we ever get that deciphered?!"......etc)

I did go up the needle for an alien pilot's eye view of the city though, then saw to my surprise all kinds of land and buildings, but of course I soon concluded it was part of the conspiracy and these are just images projected on to the glass:

View from 'the captain's bridge':

Lake Union (I think)

Anyway, back down to Earth....there is the famous Farmer's Market:

And inside there are these fishmonger dudes who regularly woo customers (spectators really) with fish-throwing skills that would have made the Monty Python team proud, but sadly I missed it on camera:

We also met up with one of Loren's pals there....

Restaurant Loren's mate runs - that could be Joe in fact - quite a classy place, where the lady in the previous pic was also working.

Many, many wine bottles.

Two of the other guys dining with us. Nice B&W methinks. Loren did they get a copy?

So on the Saturday was this thing Bumbershoot, sort of festival:

That space-ship again...

Wandering around....
