From Mesquite we headed across Nevada, Arizona, and into Utah to Zion National Park - another beautiful campground with majestic scenery from our campsite and in the park. We hiked Hidden Canyon - even with chains on the side of the trail - dropoffs weren't like Angel's Landing though - and biked the Pa'rus trail in the park - had lots of energy that day. The Virgin River was ROARING - a little bit dirty with the 5000 tons of silt it removes every day! Had a delicious dinner at Parallel 88 - enjoyed sunset on the Watchman Tower with the horse grazing below. Next day we took Ernie to Bryce to hike from Sunrise to Sunset. Took lots of pictures of the Hoodoos from the trails above. Rode thru Zion's tunnel and had a very scenic trip to Bryce thru Red Rock State Park - looks like a great place to stay and Ernie can hike in that park. Next day on to Palisade State Park in Manti UT - a bit off the beaten track, but even has a beautiful lake and a great golf course with lots of elevation changes! The greens were TRICKY!! Ernie got his swim

A few chains to keep you from falling!
in - he just jumps into the water and swims! He loves it! We overlook the lake from our campsite - and we have a full hookup! AC for Ernie while we golfed. Tomorrow to Arches for 3 nights - we'll see if we can make it w/o AC. If it's too hot we may have to leave 1 day early and head to Moab for AC! Thanks for McDonald's I can get on WIFI! Love ya - SES

Steve cross country skied 10 years ago on this trail at the edge of Bryce - it was so foggy, he could barely see the edge!
