We awoke in our quite secluded campsite and took a walk in the woods, only to find out the area has been troubled by black bears. Fortunately for us we did not see any evidence or suggestion of bears while we were there. We posed for our 35th anniversary photo in the woods and then left for our day's adventure. We rode over 130 miles round trip to see the Natural Bridges National Park. On the way we hiked into the hills to get a closer look at ancient Anasazi cliff dwellings. Aside from nearly running out of gas on the Silverwing, the day was perfect. We might not have made it back to civilization if it had not been for a sympathetic park ranger who sold me two gallons of gas (at the low price of $4.50 per gal).
Barb found her limit for riding the motorcycle, 130 miles was too long for one day. But, she has distinguished herself as a real "Motorcycle Mama", great balance and no back seat driving (I can't hear a darn thing over 30 mph anyway).
