Galveston, Texas
Campground & Bridge Instead of going to San Antonio as planned, we took a sidetrack off the route and landed in Galveston, Texas. We had stopped at the Texas Welcome Center and I picked up about a hundred brochures. Galveston looked like a fun place to visit and it has proved to be such. We are at a nice campground...nothing special but nice. I did step on an ant hill, though, and danced around for awhile. That part wasn't so nice. We drove our car about 15 miles onto Galveston Island. Traveled over a huge bridge....we have actually gone over several huge bridges (in the RV). Sometimes I close my eyes because in the RV, it almost seems like an amusement park ride. I pray Cory doesn't close his eyes! When we got on the island, we tried to tour a couple, huge, wonderful mansions but the wait for the tour was longer than what we wanted. Instead, we went down to the water and took a DUCK tour....great fun. The DUCK vehicle travels the road and then goes right into the water as a boat. It lasted for a hour and it gave us a wonderful tour of Galveston. As you can Mansions
Gorgeous see, we made several other stops along the way....Lulu enjoying each place. We are going back to Galveston Island tomorrow and take a Ferry Boat to some other island. We shall leave Galveston on Sunday and make our way to San Antonio. Texas is looking to be another great place to visit and stay for awhile. I'm still looking for that yellow rose.
