Kemah BoardwalkTook in Costco before dinner, bought a few things we need for the next week and a couple of things to bring home! Great nights sleep, last nights dinner was fantastic! I don't know how these guys do it for the money. Variety of salads with all the trimmings, marinated prawns, soup, yummy brisket with all the trimmings and all the beers and wines! Retired to our room very contented.

Headed out of San Antonio in the rain, rained nearly all the way to Houston 4 1/2 hrs. Couple of accidents along the way - signs everywhere along route telling us keep safe driving as 2014 deaths in Texas (just Texas!!) 3,437 - unbelievable! So very wary on the roads - some of those big banger pick ups just go like bats out of hell!!! The speed limit has been 75-80 mile an hour, huge anyway, and they pass you like you are standing still! Staying in Houston at a Hilton down near Nasa Space Centre - on Lake Clear - beautiful view - pity about the weather! Another great recommendation from the hotel a lovely restaurant called The Flying Dutchman down on the Kemah Boardwalk - bonus
they provided the hotel courtesy bus to take us and pick us up, it was about a 15 or so minute drive away. Happy hour from 5-7 so escaped the cold and spent an hour or so by the bar then had a great seafood and steak dinner - met a lovely Texan couple Beverley and Roger and their families celebrating a family members birthday - we had a lovely chat and Beverley has already sent us photos of the night - hope to catch up with them again some time, maybe in Aus!
