Day 7 Houston To Sam Rayburn

Houston, Texas To Sam Rayburn, Texas

This is an interesting picture that we took in the reflection of the chrome crosswalk pole outside the Galleria Mall in Houston.
This morning Don sleeps in, and Joy goes for a walk, then we both go out to the Galleria Shopping Center which is only a few blocks from the hotel. It is one of those malls with an ice rink in the middle of it, and there are figure skaters there practicing their stuff. The mall has several hotels within it, and you walk right from the lobby of the Westin Hotel into the shopping area. Definitely upscale I think, yet there are still bargains to be had. Joy is really taking a liking to Houston, but we must be on our way, and have miles to go before we sleep.

Today is check- in day at the condo north of the town of Jasper near the shores of Lake Sam Rayburn. In a matter of hours, we are at our destination, and pass by our units at the Golf View Villas on the way to the registration desk. They don’t look so hot. Registration takes a short time, and then we are back at the units, cringing as we walk in the door. They are not much to look at from the outside, and we think perhaps that

This is an overhead shot of the makeup department on Neiman Marcus in the Galleria Mall. Looked like ants on an ant hill.
it is finally time to pay the Skyauction Piper. Entering the unit, we are totally blown away….this may well be one of the most beautiful condos that we have ever stayed at…..(anywhere)…..period. It is huge, comfortable and clean. How can one complain about three decks, tastefully furnished spacious rooms and a wonderful view of the fairway. It is like living in the middle of a PGA TV commercial. A big rock fireplace with lots of firewood adds to the ambiance, and a propane bar-b-que on the deck makes for great convenience. We feel it could not be much more perfect than this.
