It's been about 11 hours now. She left here. And i felt the absence as i had before she had come, and as she was here. I have done this to myself. I have let her back in. I have done what she doesn't want, but what necessarily keeps me close to her, and her close to me. In the journal of her mind, or the composition books of her world i imagine i am in some kind of place she labels 'brokenheartedness'. And in the spirit of every poem and hearts cry that deign names of her past lovers I find my lament and torment to share a parallel to her own; as though we are bonded this way - or perhaps more likely - that she shares her pain with me, by maintaining to ... read more

CCC Crawford, TEXAS2001 Honda ST1100 COOL CATS CRUISE CRAWFORD The weather in Texas is not very predictable, especially in late spring. The weather records range from ice and snow to 100 degree heat. This year will be recorded as one of the coolest and wettest on record. The country side reflects the good weather with an over abundance of wild flowers and blooming plants. Old RT(99BMWR1100RT) and ST(2001HondaST1100) team up for a tour of central Texas to Crawford, home of President George W. Bush’s ranch. There are direct Interstate highway routes and Texas two lane crusin’ routes from our garages to Crawford. We are classified as Sport Touring motorcycles and that is why we always choose the Texas Two Lane route. Our escape from the garages requires a short Interstate 20 run to Oak Groove Rd ... read more

TAOVAYA INDIAN Tour2001 Honda ST1100 TAOVAYA INDIAN TOUR December 16, 2006 Taovaya Indians was a band of the Wichita’s that occupied both sides of the Red River in the early 1700’s. They were farmers and Buffalo hunters, trading with the Comanche for horses and the French for guns. In October 1759 Col. Diego Ortiz Parrilla, commander of San Saba Presidio, organized a punitive campaign with more than 600 men against a cluster of Wichita villages on the Red River anchored by the Taovaya’s. The Indians had constructed a split-rail fort with spaces between the rails for warriors inside to fire their guns. Outside the stockade (for which present-day Spanish Fort is named, although it was actually a Taovaya fort) they made a steep embankment, and beyond that dug a deep moat to prevent horsemen from nearing ... read more

Forrest Trail Tour2001 Honda ST1100 The ST’s do the Texas Forrest Trail Genealogy is defined as the study and tracing of family pedigrees. This ride is through the middle of Texas Genealogy so, it’s time to share our Genealogy. My younger but, larger brother ST1300 (Pan European, Sport Touring, ST) is garaged outside of Eureaka, with a grand view of Richland Chambers Lake. Our tour starts as we head East across the Trinity river into East Texas. Flat river bottom land gets wooded and rolling when you approach Cayuga. Covered with Oaks, Elms, Pecans, etc. the green pastures and flowering weeds have the appearance of spring, not late September in Texas. Cayuga was once a shipping point for cotton and timber down the Trinity to the port of Galveston until 1870’s when the Trinity was no ... read more

Untitled2001 Honda ST1100 THE ADVENTURES OF “RT & ST” THE ABILENE TOUR SEPTEMBER 2006 Our real tour starts when we cross the Brazos River. The problem is we are parked near the banks of Village Creek just South of I-30. Some freeway running is needed to escape this concrete jungle known as D/FW Metro Mess. Allow me to introduce myself and my running buddy. My official model designation is Honda ST1100, but I go by names such as ST Eleven, Pan European, Sport Touring or just “ST”. My running buddy, you will see in the following photos, is a BMW R1100RT sometimes called Beemer, Oil Head, or just “RT”. Please excuse his Stainetune exhaust rumble and popping. You might say this is not our first rodeo. We have seen lots of two lane highways in Arkansas, ... read more
