Good-Bye, Hollywood....Hello, Memphis. Cory called Red Bay/Tiffin this morning to get an idea on our RV progress. Having lived in the South for one month (not bragging), we have observed the pace of how things get done: there is only ONE pace: S-L-O-W! Brad said "we're workin' best we can..." That means: forget today and probably tomorrow so how best to drown our sorrows but back on Beale Street in Memphis. We are staying at a very nice Hampton Inn, one block from Beale St. We took the trolley ride around the whole loop...I just love doing this..no better way to see the sights and "suck up the local culture". We went into a Southern Folklore Place that the lady said she would show us a 20 minute video of Beale St. -- we passed. Instead we headed back to the outdoor park we visited when we were here before (outside our hotel now) and sat enjoying the band playing all the great tunes we love (in 100 degree weather). Cory kept retrieving me some yummy drink from "Wet Willies" across the street. We both have T-Shirts from there now. Remember: a "Wet-Willie" is when you lick your finger and stick Memphis-Beale St.
Our hotel & Lulu liking Lions it in someone's ear. Surely, you have done that at one time or another.
It is so HOT here! It is over 100 degrees. We will have to drink a lot to stay hydrated, that's for sure. When we were in Tunica, the temp. was just as high......until you went into the casinos....they were like meat lockers...freezing. I had to wear a jacket...no kidding. There just doesn't seem to be a happy medium. We have decided that we shall just stay here until the RV is done..and now we don't care how long it takes. Our coping mechanisms have kicked in. This is as good as New Orlean's Bourbon Steeet (a little shorter is all) and Tunica gave us all the casino action we wanted...all that's left to do is San Antonio. Since we had no definite plans when we started (thank, God), only a direction, we seemed to have seen and done a lot of what we had hoped for, just in different locations ....... all based from the Red Bay area. Who would have thought ......it seems to be how fate has worked it's mysterious way. Fortunately, we are flexible people. Lemonade is back to tasting Trolley Ride
Lulu paying her fare like PiƱa Coladas! Yippee!
