I'm All Shook up
Memphis = Elvis Presley Heather Says Really, really wish we had more time here!
This town has such an awesome vibe... we start with early dinner on Beale Street (the hottest street in town!) at one of the many Blues Bars followed by a ride in a horse pulled carriage to take in the scenery and nightlife.
Brendan Says Heather skipped the fact that this "dinner" was our first real fried dinner.... bust was awesome, check out the fried green tomatoes, gumbo, rack of ribs, and catfish!
Heather Says Afterwards we head back to Beale street to hit the bars. They shut the street down to cars at night and thats when the place really gets thumping. You hear live music from blocks away. there's a live blues musician in nearly every pub and plenty of street performers to keep the whole street buzzing.
Saw the most incredible band at a place called Wet Willies, the lead singer was a massive white guy (sounding like a massive black guy!) who belted out the grittiest blues while slamming on a piano like he wanted to break it.....Went off!
Memphis was wilder than Bourbon Street!
