The one about the First Day on the Road. I spent two weeks in NJ over Christmas, enjoying those NJ grandkids, and made it home to NC 12/28. It took me the better part of 2 days to clean up from that trip, then put away Christmas decoration, all before I could think about packing for my 2020 Snowbird trip. I had lot of help and offers of help; Tim and Ben helped me one day load all the groceries and clothes, then Lilly helped me Thursday with the refrigerated things. And we are off again. Make sure you are buckled up. Before we left Fort Chiswell Campground, Lulu had to have a photo op. She spied a herd of cows behind where we were parked. It was soooo cold last night; it was the first night I had the furnace on all evening until I went to bed. Overnight I just left on the space heater, and it was 41 inside when I woke up this morning. I cranked the furnace then jumped back into bed until it warmed up. My cold seems somewhat better this morning, my nose is less runny for sure. After a quick hug goodbye with Kathy, I was on the road pretty close to 8:30. Dumping at this dump station was easy, nice and level, easy. Over the river and thru the woods winding my way to US 301 passing thru towns such as Anthony and Stark and unusual signs such as “Migrant Christian Workers Hall”. An interesting looking sign said “Mud Bogg – events every ... read more
