We arrived in Gaffney SC a couple days early for our 18-19 Jan service at Oasis Freightliner Custom Chassis Service Center. It is critical we get Camp Boss serviced before we embark on our cross continent journey, so we wanted to take no chances of being late. Well it's a good thing we showed up early, because we timed our arrival with an unexpected snow storm. We were going to stay a couple days in the very nice Spartanburg/Gaffney KOA, but nature had its own plans. So we showered and caught up on laundry at the KOA, then got up early on the 17th to move into the Oasis FCC maintenance lot a day early. The maintenance lot is great, it has wireless, a dump station, and 50 amp service and they provide it free to customers awaiting service!

Good thing we moved on the 17th, because tonight's temperatures are forecasted to drop into the teens...turning abundant slush into ice! I can drive in snow, but I have no plans to drive in ice.

A few minutes ago, the service manager came to our rig and let us know they are closing the shop tomorrow (for weather) and our

Another SC snow storm. I have some kind of timing, visit South Carolina twice in a month and both time I arrive in a snow storm.
2-day service will be delayed until Friday the 19th. They hope some of their appointments will cancel due to weather, so they can put two techs on my rig. They estimate 16 hours work, so hopefully two 8-hour techs can get us done on Friday. We have our fingers crossed, but have flexible plans. We'll be happy as long as we can get the work done. We planned on visiting my cousin Dean in Hickory NC on Thursday/Friday, but it now looks like it may only be on Friday or possibly the weekend. Nature rules all! We'll post an update once we all this is behind us.

Update: The service center put two great technicians on the Camp Boss and finished it up at the end of the day on Friday. All day maintenance timeline gave us just enough time to visit with my cousin Dean and family in Hickory NC. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch with the family at one of the local tap houses in the historic section and had just enough time to get back to Gaffney to pay for the service and ready the RV for the next trip. It ended up being a great
