So yesterday basically all day I scraped paint off the steps of the dining hall with a heat gun. Then we sanded them. And since today is our day off, we all went to a pub in Hancock, which is in NY. There are two different laws regarding bars between PA and NY--PA you must be over 21 to be in the bar, whereas in NY you can be 18 and be in the bar but still 21 to drink. It was a lot of fun, BabyT and I won both of the pool games we shot (only because of the scratch rule). I'm still having fun but I do miss home a lot. Hope you're all well!... read more


If you thought moving rocks down a hill was fun, you'll love what we did today! (It actually wasn't that bad, either. I think they don't want to really tire us out before camp. Bad idea.) We moved tarps from the softball field, flipped stuff (the pool bottom), weeded/raked the volleyball court and then SCRAPED A LOT OF PAINT! :O) Tomorrow we're going to paint half the deck of the dining hall and I don't know what else. Food is still pretty good, people are still awesome and more are arriving every day. The weather was a little fickle today, but no rain. All I can say is, it's friggin' COLD especially in the mornings. I'm having a good time though, especially riding in the back of the Mule. Word. Miss you all! And Mom and ... read more


I guess technically yesterday was day one. But we didn't do any work. We took the redeye (UGH) to JFK, where we slept in the airport--I felt homeless--and then got picked up. In the van we met a bunch of our co-workers who had also flown in. After missing the turn to get to Newark Airport, we picked up two more, but then one had forgotten her purse and by the time we got back someone had stolen her cell phone and a bunch of money. :o( The drive was about 4 hours and I slept a lot of the way.
