In the Brandywine Valley, White Wing Farm bed and breakfast offers stunning views and cozy, comfortable accommodations
Just an hour outside of Philadelphia, Andrew Wyeth has lived and painted the Brandywine Valley for decades. In this picturesque locale, you can still walk the farm where he painted the famous Helga portraits(Koerner Farm) and visit the Brandywine River Museum, which displays perhaps the largest collection of three generations of Wyeth artists -- N.C., Andrew and Jamie. During the visit, also take in Longwood Gardens, about l0 minutes away. And stay in one of the loveliest bed-and-breakfast hotels around -- White Wing Farm. We spent a recent weekend there with a group of travel journalists, and they loved the fact that the inn manager is also a pastry chef who creates fabulous pastries for afternoon tea each day.
